She is involved with a local organization supported by VOW that is dedicated to promoting girls’ empowerment. Niger is a focus country for VOW, as it has the highest prevalence of child marriage in the world with 76% of girls married before the age of 18. Based on the artwork by Salamatou, this silk scarf is hand-painted by Erich Biehle, a world-renowned Swiss textile designer specializing in Haute Couture and Prêt-á-Porter. Each VOW scarf is handcrafted from silk scarf and produced in Como, Italy, which is also named the world capital of silk.
